Bar Straightening Machine Metal bars often come out of the cooling or peeling process with slight bends or 'snakes.' This machine fixes that. Primary Function: To correct the straightness and improve the surface smoothness of round bars. How it Works: The bar passes through a series of staggered rollers (usually 2 to 10 rollers) arranged in a specific angle. These rollers apply pressure to 'flex' the bar back into a perfectly straight line. Key Characteristics: Straightness Precision: Often achieves tolerances as tight as 0.5 mm per meter. Surface Burnishing: The pressure from the rollers also acts to slightly 'polish' the surface, improving the finish after peeling. Essential Step: This is almost always done before a bar is sent to a CNC machine to ensure the bar doesn't wobble during high-speed rotation.
